Echoing our 5 Day Plant-Based Skin Detox that is staring next week on 4/12, eating healthy is that crucial foundation to give you an effective detox. Eat “the rainbow” through the week, by eating a different color of fruit and vegetables every day.

🍆Monday: Purple-Blue
🥬Tuesday: Green
🍋Wednesday: Yellow-Orange

Here are benefits from each of the color groups and whey they are good for you.

💜Purple (Eggplants, Beets, Blueberry, Plums, Figs…) - The purple color comes from the antioxidant anthocyanin, which protects the plants from sunlight damage.
💚Green (Kales, Asparagus, Green Pepper, Avocado, Pear…) - Green foods contain an enzyme called myrosinase, that will produce sulforaphane when you chop or chew that green. Sulforaphane induces protective mechanisms in the cells, reducing the risk of cancer.

💛Yellow & Orange (Carrots, Yellow Peppers, Squash, Papaya, Oranges…) - The beta-cryptoxanthin and the beta-carotene are converted to A-vitamins. They are antioxidants that can prevent damage to your cells, support intracellular communication.

❤️Red (Tomatoes, Red Peppers, Strawberries, Pink Grapefruit…) - The red color caused by lycopene is in the same carotenoid family as the yellow-orange beta-carotene and -cryptothanxin.
